One of the most important niche analysis checks to run is to look at your short list of niche ideas to assess how much traffic they are likely to receive and test how competitive the market is likely to be.
You should use the Google Adwords Planner tool to check to see if enough people search for your niches online. There are plenty of other really good keyword tools available but at this crucial stage of your niche business I suggest you use Google’s own data and a tool that is very low cost – Free!
Remember – until your business starts paying you it’s best to keep your costs to a minimum until you’re sure your niche works. Then you can invest in tools and services to ramp up your profits.
To get started testing your niche shortlist using Google Adwords all you need to do is sign up for an Adwords Account (or log in if you already have one).
To set up an Adwords Account just follow these simple steps. If you do already have an Adwords Account then scroll down to the bottom of this article to move onto Part Two.
Step 1 – Accessing Google Adwords
Go to the Google Adwords Home Page and then find and click on the ‘Sign Up Now’ link at the bottom of the page as shown in the image below.
Step 2 – Using your existing Google Account
As you will already have a Google Gmail account from completing the ‘Get Started’ program when you joined Dr Nitch just select the options shown in the image below and enter your Google Account log in information.
If you didn’t complete the ‘Get Started’ Program please go back to this and complete the steps shown otherwise you’ll be unable to get the most out of the niche marketing activities shared in the members area. You can access via this link ‘Get Started Program’
Step 3- Time Zone & currency Settings
Once you’ve logged into your Google Account you’ll be asked to set your time zone, location and currency settings. You can do these easily as Google will automatically complete the boxes with your local information and if you’re happy with these just click ‘Continue’ as shown in the image below.
Step 4 – Account Completion
Once your account is setup you can log into your new Adwords account and start using it for analysis of your niche ideas.
