Yahoo Groups is a useful resource that you can use to identify potential niches to add to your ideas list. To look for niche ideas using Yahoo Groups all you have to do is look round the main categories and then the sub categories to identify ideas for you to research further.
Go to Yahoo Groups and browse around the groups listed as shown in the image below. For my example, I’m going to click on ‘Hobbies & Crafts’.
Looking at the ‘Hobbies & Crafts’ category as an example Yahoo Groups suggested these more specialized groups which have active memberships. We’re going to take a closer look at the ‘Collecting’ category.
Yahoo Groups also gives us a directory listing of all the groups active in the ‘Collecting’ category and on the day I visited there were nearly 16,000 groups with the ones in the image featuring subjects as varied as pencil sharpeners, lawn mowers and tractors!
Using Yahoo Groups I was able to quickly identify these niche ideas from the category to add to my list of ideas to choose from.
